Challenge

A prominent apartment complex chain, known for its upscale residential developments, approached us with a vision to completely redefine the exterior identity of one of its flagship properties in Dallas, TX. The client arrived with only a reference image of a sign, seeking a fresh, modern, and distinctive monument sign that would stand out in the highly competitive housing market.

They also required a new logo, ensuring the final product would align perfectly with their brand identity and bold aesthetic vision. The directive was clear: make it big, daring, and impossible to miss.

Process:

We began by transforming the client’s concept into a fully engineered design, adapting every element to their brand’s style. This project was unique for several reasons:

Custom Monument Sign Design: Created from scratch, the 12-foot-tall monument incorporated an unusually high number of finishes, each chosen for durability and aesthetics.

Complex Engineering: Developed a unique assembly method to seamlessly integrate a sophisticated lighting system, including front-lit, backlit, and specialty illuminated areas.

Precision Fabrication: Utilized 1-inch-thick acrylic cut at precise angles to fit perfectly with the structural and decorative elements.

Full Production Capability: Demonstrated J&A’s ability to take any idea from concept to reality, delivering a fully customized solution tailored to the client’s vision.

Challenging Installation: Installed in the pool area, an environment with numerous underground pipes and wires, requiring careful planning for safety and precision.

Foundation & Logistics: Built a reinforced concrete base, transported the sign over 70 miles from our shop, and positioned it using our own cranes for complete in-house control.
